  We didn't even know they changed owners as their food remains good at good prices. Their weekend specials are excellent and I seriously don't understand the negative comments.

  When the original owners (Sean) opened up some years ago, the place was fantastic. Genuinely friendly staff, beautifully merchandised store, superb selection, freezers fully stocked, and reasonable prices. When the new owners took over, the freezers were not often fully stocked, the selection of non-refrigerated items declined, and the staff wasn't as sincere. A hand-written note went up to say the store was closed for renovations, and that they'd see customers in the spring. This, just before the busy Christmas season. A red flag went up. I emailed the company to inquire as to when they would reopen, and a man said they were negotiating the lease (or something like that). Two weeks later, a legal notice was hanging in the window, in effect stating that the owners had not paid their rent. What's worse is that the head office would blatantly lie. They could have said they had no plans to re-open. I'll have to try the Langley location.
